CHILDREN’S MUSIC
Sunday School Children take part in Lutheran hymnody each Sunday. The children are exposed to good Lutheran hymns as well as contemporary psalms and canticles. The children sing at Divine Service many times a year including Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday. Instrumentals for youth include piano, tambourine, tone chimes, trumpet and harp. Contact the Sunday School music director for information.
THE ALTAR GUILD
Christ the King Altar Guild consists of women who serve the Lord and this congregation by tending to the chancel of the Lord and the sacred vessels. The guild meets quarterly and the women team up to design and make banners and flags. We prepare the altar area for each service and learn about the Christian Year, its colors and symbols. CTK SUNDAY SCHOOL
Our vibrant Sunday School holds classes for children Preschool (age 3) through 8th grade. The children use colorful lessons to learn of and experience the Christian faith. There is no charge and all are welcome! 9:15-10:15am. Devotions, crafts, song, Bible Lessons using WELS' Christ-Light religion curriculum. Call (847)358-0230 for more information.
CHRISTMAS EVE
The Christmas Eve service with parish children is Dec. 24 each year. "The Birthday of a King" finds shepherds, angels and the holy family at Bethlehem. To enroll your child in the Christmas Eve program, call (847)358-0230. Saturday practices are 10-11:30am in December.
ACOLYTES
Youth are welcome to serve Christ and his people by becoming a vested acolyte at Christ the King. Boys and girls grades 4-9 can assist our pastor and the parish worship life by carring the processional cross, lighting candles, carrying the Bible, and more. Call our coordinator Dave VanDornick to enroll your child.
YOUTH CATECHISM
Catechesis for youth in grades 7-8 takes place in the Adult Learning Center of Christ the King on Tuesdays 6:00-7:30pm. Pr. Schultz leads the youth through Luther's Small Catechism and prepares them for confirmation, the first Sunday in May each spring. Our catechumens are also required to attend Divine Service and Sunday School as part of their catechetical training.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Third week in June each summer, Christ the King VBS serves Palatine with God's love! We meet 9:30am-Noon and offer fun and class sessions for kids age 3-14. Call (847)358-0230 to register. Classes fill early so please register early! pastor@ByFaithAlone.org

CRADLE ROLL
Baptized babies are enrolled in the church's cradle roll. Parents receive regular mailings every 6 months from birth up to the time the child is enrolled in Sunday School. Our cradle roll includes prayers for the child, coloring books and parenting tips. The cradle roll materials are from our synod publishing house and are new, exciting and very useful!
CTK LUTHERAN PRESCHOOL
Christ the King Preschool offers a wonderful Christ-centered early childhood education experience for children ages 3-5. Our director, Mrs. Valerie Schultz (BS in Education and ECE), can be contacted by phone at (847)358-0230 ext. 3 or by e-mail at preschool@byfaithalone.org.
ADULT CATECHISM
Christ the King Lutheran Church offers an extensive adult catechesis program. 19 lessons are covered in the course "People Close to God" after which adult confirmation is offered the catechumen. New members are supported in their holy faith in worship and sacrament and service following the class. All new members are welcomed at a special Advent dinner in December. Call the pastor at (847)358-0230 to find out when the next adult catechism course is offered.
ADULT BIBLE CLASS
Christ the King Adult Bible Study and Coffee hour is Sunday, 9:15am in the Adult Learning Center of the church {Sept-May}. Books of the Bible and current religious topics are studied and discussed. Coffee and tea are always available.

TEEN BIBLE CLASS & YOUTH GROUP EVENTS
Christ the King's high school youth gather on Sundays, 9:15am for youth-oriented Bible discussions. The parish youth also gather monthly for fun and fellowship events, usually on Sunday afternoons.

FOOD PANTRY
Christ the King offers a food pantry to those families or individuals in need. We also support the Palatine Township Pantry and PADS. Call the church office at (847)358-0230 if you are in need of non-perishable groceries.
24-HOUR PREGNANCY HOTLINE
Please call (847)949-4443 if you need confidential assistance with a pregnancy or baby related issue, or if you think you are pregnant. Trained counselors will help you and your baby survive and thrive in the peace of Jesus Christ.
CHURCH CLEANING
Our members have been cleaning the church since its founding in 1969. Parish families are placed in a rotation. A team of families is asked to help each Saturday about 2-3 times per year. It usually takes 1-2 hours to do the job. To opt out of this service please call the church office and remove your name from the cleaning list.

WORSHIP THE LORD THIS SUNDAY!
Christ Jesus died for the whole world, that we might be reconciled to a holy God. In his charity and peace we find life. God's Word is for all nations, as is holy baptism. All of our ministries are welcome places for guests and visitors, and Christian training {catechesis} is offered to children and adults alike that we might be strengthened in our faith and celebrate Christ's real presence in the Eucharist. Every Sunday Eucharist occurs Advent through the Day of Pentecost. During the non-festival half of the Church Year Holy Communion is served at the 1st,3d,&5th Sundays. Service times are always @ 8am and 10.3oam year 'round. Each 5th Sunday of the month we gather for an all-Church breakfast between services. Please join us!
